About Us

BatBob originally started in 1989 as Sportwaves Unlimited with a dedication to manufacturing athletic bags. We found success making custom team bags for schools and clubs. Sportwaves would design bags with logos and colors to match the teams who were ordering. One of the bigger markets for these bags was baseball and softball, as they play year round and need high quality equipment. As we grew, we worked with travel ball teams to help fine tune our products and develop new ones along the way. 

Our bat bags having compartments (shelf) for helmets, a ventilating shoe pocket, and a padded bat compartment. When we added wheels, they really started jumping out the door, fully customized for teams. We also have a great back pack called the Renegade that many teams enjoy. 

We hope to one day integrate these products into the BatBob website for more people to enjoy. 

In the mid-2000's, Herb Riehl (Founder and Owner of BatBob) became aware that many teams have a need to keep their equipment organized in the dugout -- helmets, bats, and gloves were lying everywhere. Development began to make the perfect organizer from long cords that would hold bats for the whole team, and dugout organizers that fit all the equipment a player uses. What we originally developed were devices for individual equipment: The Bat Bob and the Helmet Bob. 

After development of the Bat Bob, we wanted to create a way for teams to customize them, just as we had for our bat bags. So we created the Custom Mini Jersey. It adds a second level of organization and brings the product to life. 

But why have multiple products to hang different equipment? We thought it should be possible to have an all in one product people could use for all their baseball or softball equipment. So we created the Dugout Gear Hanger, which has the same function as the original Bat Bob with the added ability to hang your gloves and helmets at the same time!

Lastly, we found that many of our customers wanted Mini Jerseys for other reasons than to put on the Dugout Gear Hanger. So we added the Keychain Jersey, which includes a keychain to enable our customers to put the jersey anywhere they'd like.

Our Goal

BatBob.com wants to reach everyone who loves to get out in the sun and play ball, offering cool and innovative products that live up to the Sportwaves name. We pride ourselves in our personalized touch and taking care of our customers. Keeping dugouts safe and organized so players can focus on the game is our mission. 

Location

BatBob is located in Lafayette, Colorado just twenty minutes north of Denver. We have an amazing view of the front range mountains which go over 14,000 feet!
