Fenway Park:
Home of the Red Sox
Fenway park opened on April 20, 1912. It remains today much
like it did when the very first pitch was thrown.
The Boston Red Sox conjures images of some of Baseball's
greats: Cy Young, Jimmy Collins, Babe Ruth, Duffy Lewis, Tris
Speaker, Harry Hooper, and more!
Fenway Park is actually the second home for the Sox. In
1901, the Boston Americans became one of the charter members
of the fledgling American League. The Americans played ball
at the Huntington Avenue Grounds, now a part of Northeastern
University's campus.
